Located 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, Ogden is the gateway to Snowbasin, Powder Mountain and Wolf Mountain ski resorts and is a center for skiing and outdoor sports. Originally named Fort Buenaventura, the city of Ogden was the first permanent settlement by people of European descent in the region that is now Utah.
