RE: YellowPages.com Bargaining
Update Bargaining has almost concluded for our first YellowPages.com contract. As you are all aware, your Union has been in negotiations for a contract for the Account Executives-Telephone Sales in Henderson, NV and Charlotte NC. In recent meetings I told all of the Telephone Sales Representatives in Henderson and Charlotte that the parties had put a deadline of April 15, 2011 to bring about a new contract. We are almost finished with that contract. The last pieces to finalize are the commission rates and some details around market assignment and the manner in which your commissions shall be paid.
Currently the Company has the Union’s final proposal in their possession and we are awaiting a final response from the Company as they review the details with the finance group. As soon as we have a final contract we shall schedule ratification meetings in both Charlotte and Henderson. At these meetings the details of your new contract will be reviewed with all of you who have signed membership applications and dues deductions cards. At the conclusion of the meeting you will vote to accept or reject the new contract.
This has been a long and arduous process. I would like to thank all of you once again for your patience in the process and feel confident that you will be rewarded with a fair and reasonable collective bargaining agreement.
After bargaining concludes and a contract has been accepted we shall begin the process of interviewing and training Union Stewards in each location. If you have any interest in being involved in your local office, please contact Joyce Salvador at 415-398-8111 to start the process.
I look forward to seeing all of you very soon.
Fraternally, Casey M Lewis
President/Asst. Business Manager
