Saturday September 18, 2010 at the San Ramon Marriott, IBEW 1269 held a ratification meeting for the purpose of reviewing and voting on the tentative agreement.
The package was reviewed, questions were answered and the vote was tallied. The members of IBEW 1269 voted to accept the new contract. The contract will go into effect immediately. With wage increases retroactive to August 7, 2010. A question asked in the meeting involved our ASA/CA members affected by the surplus. The question asked was whether or not they would receive the retroactive wage increase as well as the $500.00 signing bonus. Casey Lewis contacted HR Director, Jon Irelan to cofirm and the answer is YES. The ASA/CA members impacted by the surplus declaration will receive the retroactive wage increase and the 500 dollar signing bonus.
As a result of this contract ratification wage increases and improvements in benefits will be passed along to DGA. The Union office is preparing a package to explain the changes and increases in wages to our DGA membership next week.
Your bargaining team would like to extend our appreciation for all of the membership's support, patience and courtesy throughout this process. As we move forward and transition onto the new terms and conditions of our agreement, Casey Lewis along with other key members of our Union leadership will visit every location to host a union meeting for questions and answers as well as to establish strong local Union leadership to manage and monitor the management team in each office and their individual adherence to the new collective bargaining agreement.
