Phil Hanley masthead November 2009Phil Hanley Reports:

Phil Hanley reported some reps are being held back from working the Tahoe Directory.  The union is asking for information on why this is happening.  A grievance has been filed over telephone sales being required to work barter accounts.  The Company agreed to comply with contract and have managers work the bartered items on the accounts and then return the accounts to the originally assigned representative according to the contract (15.13.8 on pg.42 of the contract). We have received negative reports about conditions in Pleasanton; the union is working on the matter.  Telephone sales representatives are non-exempt employees which means telephone sales reps cannot work extra hours either voluntarily or otherwise without being paid overtime.  Any manager requiring any telephone sales rep or non-sales support people to work extra hours to attain their minimum call time or to do other work, should report the matter to the Union office along with details. Union Office number is 415-398-8111.
