Local 1269, founded in 1965, is the largest Yellow Pages local union in the United States and Canada.

A Long and Proud Tradition.

• Union begins organizing from 1961 - 1964.
• Union wins recognition election December, 1964
• Local 1269 is chartered on February 2, 1965 with Peter Pusateri as the first Business Manager
• 1967 - Organized Southern California premise & telephone workers
• 1967 - Filed and won a grievance to have the first woman in the country promoted from telephone sales to premise sales
• 1968 - Organized Northern California production/clerical workers
• 1968 - Mountain Bell merges with Local 1269 (Currently Dex One Corp.)
• 1970 - Organized Southern California production/clerical workers
• 2001 - Organized DGA
• 2002 - Ratified first DGA contract
• 2002 - IBEW Local 1011 merges with local 1269
